The Mathematics Curriculum, launched in 2014, has meant a rejigging of some expectations and content. However, there remain three clear aims, that we wish children to achieve:

  • to be able to solve problems
  • to be able to reason mathematically
  • to become fluent in the fundementals of mathematics

The Mathematics curriculum will organised along four different themes and the children will work progressively through these.

  • Number Sense
  • Additive Reasoning
  • Multiplicative Reasoning
  • Geometric Reasoning

Our curriculum aims are to combine innovative approaches with rigour and high expectations right across the primary curriculum, so that we can develop more creative ways to meet the needs of all our pupils. The overview of topics for Foundation Stage/KS1 and KS2 are detailed below.
